A $1 million USD price tag has been placed on a damaged Russian Sukhoi Superjet.

Russian auction houses sell the damaged Sukhoi Superjet 100 for just over $ 1 million. The aircraft is not airworthiness and cannot fly again, but remains largely intact after the landing gear collapses and collides with the runway.

According to Aerotime, the Russian auction house RAD sells the Sukhoi Superjet 100 on its website. The aircraft with registration number RA89011 is not airworthiness and is listed for 77.25 million rubles ($ 1.05 million).
You may not be able to fly an airplane, but it has many uses. In addition to selling if parts remain, many enthusiasts use the hull to create unique hotels, restaurants and theme parks. A million dollars is a big problem, but investors with big plans may find some value in this almost intact aircraft. According to
Planespotters.net, the aircraft was previously owned by Yakutsk Airlines and was newly delivered in December 2012. The SSJ100 was used almost six years before the 2018 catastrophe.
In the October 2018 accident, the aircraft was unable to stop at the end of the runway and finally collided with an obstacle, the landing gear collapsed, and the fuselage. All of this, coupled with a fuel leak, required the SSJ100 to be revoked and no need to resume service.
Subsequent investigations revealed that ATC reported an incorrect coefficient of friction on the runway. The presence of ice on the runway means that the SSJ100 did not have enough braking force to stop before hitting the end of the runway. Fortunately, only a few were slightly injured on board, and everyone else was unharmed. The
Sukhoi Superjet 100 has recorded various hits in terms of success. The aircraft currently has nine operators, all of whom are Russian and operate jets in the national or regional sectors. This will increase the total production size to 131 aircraft. This is a good number of new aircraft variations.
However, the Superjet 100 is missing the reputation of overseas customers. Safety, maintenance, and reliability issues have plagued aircraft for years, and with available alternatives, overseas airlines have stuck to them.
Rostec is currently working on a new version of Superjet with more domestic parts. This allows the company to sell to customers around the world without being subject to export control and extend the range of the aircraft. Significant improvements are expected across the aircraft, including engine changes.
